  • Troubleshooting Lighting Issues After Installing The Roadmaster Diode Kit On A 2008 Jeep Wrangler
  • If the left light on your 2008 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited is dull after installing the Roadmaster Universal Hy-Power Diode Wiring Kit Item # RM-154 then you have a connection issue. I recommend checking the wiring and making sure there is no loose or damaged wiring. If you're having issues when hooked up to the motorhome then first you want to make sure it's wired correctly. The lighting on your 2008 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited is combined. I've attached the wiring diagrams for a combined wiring...

  • Troubleshooting Even Brake Portable Proportional Braking System On 2015 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited
  • I called my contact at Roadmaster about the # RM-9400 and the troubleshooting message you keep getting. They told me that you need to check the green wire that is coming out of the # RM-751452 switch. You should only show current when the brake pedal is depressed. If you are not showing current, then the switch is probably bad or it has shorted out and needs to be replaced.

  • Brake Controller Display on 2016 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited is Not Lighting up
  • If the display on your brake controller is not lighting up, then it is definitely not getting power and you will need to check the wiring running to the battery on your 2016 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. If you have the Prodigy P3 # 90195 then it will be the Black wire on the pigtail. You can use a Circuit Tester # PTW2993 to make sure that there is power coming through on that wire. If there is power getting to the brake controller but the display doesn't light up and there is no output from...

  • Reverse Lights Flash when Left Turn Signal is On Using Hopkins Tow Bar Wiring on 2015 Jeep Wrangler
  • This is the first time I have heard of this issue with any Hopkins tow bar wiring harness such as # HM56200 on a 2015 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. Since this harness plugs in line with the tail light wiring there isn't a way that it could have been connected in the wrong spot. It is possible though that there is a bent pin or maybe corrosion that is causing a short to jump to the reverse light on that one side. That is the first thing I would check. Another thing that might cause the harness...

  • Troubleshooting Loss Of Running Lights After Installing The Roadmaster Diode Wiring Kit
  • If only the running lights are having an issue on the trailer I recommend first checking the trailer connector on the back of your Wrangler to see if the issue is with the Jeep and the diode kit # RM-15267 you installed. You can turn on the running lights and check the pin on your 4 or 7-way connector to see if the signal is coming through. If it is then the issue lies with the trailer and you'll need to work your way from the trailer connector to the lights to determine where the issue...

  • Troubleshooting Both Turn Signals Running At The Same Time
  • The first thing to check is the connection pins on your wiring harness. Make sure there isn't any loose or bent pins or any debris. You can use some Dielectric Grease # 11755 to ensure a clean and proper connection. The second thing to check is your ground. Make sure the main trailer connector ground and the grounds for each of the lights are all connected to clean and corrosion free bare metal surfaces. The third thing to check is if you have any shorts in the wiring on both the motorhome...

  • Troubleshooting a Tail Light Not Working Properly When Hooked Up to Flat Tow Wiring
  • Since everything is working except for the one function (drivers side tail light) some possible issues could be the harness wires are not connected to vehicle correctly/securely, a set of connectors is not seated together properly or is not making a good connection or a required fuse or relay is blown or missing. Could also be an insufficient ground or short to ground on trailer or vehicle side. A Hook Probe Circuit Tester # PTW2993 will be helpful in testing at each connection point. I...

  • Troubleshooting No Power on Red Wire of Curt Trailer Wiring for 2019 Jeep Wrangler JL
  • If the red wire of the # C56407 that fits your 2019 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited does not have power on it that would indicate most likely that it's not connected to the battery properly, the fuse isn't installed/has blown, or maybe there's a problem with the wire. I'd be shocked though if the problem is the wire as that's basically unheard of. If you have a circuit tester with a probe like # PTW2993 test the wire before and after the fuse as that will narrow down where the problem might be.

  • Troubleshooting Brake Controller Error Codes On 2012 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited
  • It sounds like you have a short in the blue brake wire somewhere between the brake controller and the 7-way connector at the rear of your Jeep, especially since you said the error codes show up with no trailer connected. You will want to cut the blue wire about 4 or 5 inches behind the brake controller and see if the flashing SH code stops. If it does, then there is a problem with that wire, and you will need to check it all the way back to the 7-way. If the code stops flashing on the...

  • Reducing Noise From Rhino Rack Vortex Series Roof Rack Crossbar Kits
  • Generally, aero bars are as quiet as they can get, but there's a few extra steps you can take to try and reduce the noise from your Rhino Rack SG Roof Rack Kit, part # RRSG59. - If you're experiencing a high pitched whistle that seems to come from near one of the connection points, you may not have a great fit to that particular leg. You can improve performance by repeating the installation of the rack, focusing on alternating tightening down the two legs, doing half of the turns required...

  • I spoke with my contact at Roadmaster and he stated that the most likely problem with your Falcon 5250 Tow Bar not latching is the Autowlok button or buttons will need to be replaced. he said that often times the spring inside goes bad over time and replacing the mechanism will solve the problem. We do carry the repair kit, # RM-910003-50, and I have included a link to the installation details for you.

  • Troubleshooting Invisibrake Monitor and Breakaway Installation on 2014 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited
  • The motorhome monitor alarm in Monitor/Alarm Kit # RM-98850 will not sound when you press the motorhome brake pedal. If someone presses the toad brake pedal for more than 20-seconds then you should hear the alarm. As for the breakaway my contact at Roadmaster suggested testing the breakaway wiring. The black wire should have voltage all the time; the white wire should have voltage only when the pin is pulled. If you have power on the black wire but the white wire does not go hot when the...

  • Troubleshooting Trailer Connector On 2011 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited With No Trailer Running Lights
  • The problem with no running lights when you turn on the Jeep headlights sounds like a blown fuse. You first want to check the fuse panel or your owner's manual and make sure the fuse is good. Since you said you have no power at the pin on the harness, it leads me to believe the fuse is blown or you have a bent pin on the harness, or a wire is loose or damaged from the back of the harness connector. You can check for corrosion as well. A corroded pin will not show current. If this is...

I confirmed this information with my contact over at Roadmaster and this is how the system was designed.

  • Troubleshooting Brake-Lite Relay Kit Not Working for 2017 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited
  • The Roadmaster Brake-Lite Relay Kit for Towed Vehicles # RM-88400 will keep the brake signal from your 2017 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited overriding your turn signals so if the brakes are still overriding the turn signals then that means the unit wasn't properly installed, or the relay or fuse is bad and needs to be replaced. According to my research your Jeep should have a normally open application so you'll want to follow and re-check those instructions (see attached).

  • 2005 Jeep Wrangler Left Brake Light Stays On All the Time When Connected to RV
  • To determine where the problem is I recommend having the 2005 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited plugged up to the RV and then use a circuit tester such as # PTW2993 to test the wiring starting at the RV. You are looking for constant power on the left brake light/turn signal wire. Start at the RV and work your way back until you find the problem. If it doesn't show up until after the diode, then that could mean that the diode is the problem. Also, if you are using a supplemental braking system...

  • Troubleshooting Brake buddy on Jeep Wrangler Unlimited
  • If you are of the impression that a faulty signal is being sent from your Brake Buddy, # HM39524, I suggest you remove all power for no less than 15 minutes allowing the unit to reset. We want to ensure you do not have any vacuum pressure built. If on resuming testing you have a repeated error in operation check the signal from your breakaway switch, ensure switch is fully seated. From the Tech Rep at the manufacturer, they also suggest that you double check wiring at switch housing...

  • Troubleshooting Brake Lights Overriding Turn Signals On 2021 Jeep Wrangler Being Flat-Towed
  • The Roadmaster Stop Light Switch Kit # RM-751490 is what is required for your 2021 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, and not the # RM-88400 you mentioned. This is due to the stop light switch on your Jeep timing out of after so long. This kit is designed to stop the brake lights from overriding the turn signals, so since you are having these issues still that leads me to believe there is a wiring issue with either the switch or the tow bar wiring # RM-154. I recommend following the included instruction...

  • Troubleshooting Trailer Connector of Right Hand Drive 2013 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited
  • I checked with my Tekonsha representative, who tells me that they don't have specific installation instructions geared toward a right hand drive 2013 Wrangler. He suggested pulling the left side taillight assembly and checking to see if the taillight harness connection is there, if not it's likely located on the right side. Before replacing anything, I'd recommend using a circuit tester like # PTW2993 on the pins of the trailer connector as each taillight function is being activated. If...
